Reverend Choy Wing Yut

Dear Pst Wing Yut, will always remember this verse you have shared during one of our cgs: "As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people, from this time forth and forevermore.

Psalms 125:2". It has truely encouraged me. Will miss your teachings and sharing.

I knew Pastor Wing Yut sometime in 1986 when we were put together in the same Bible study group in TPBC. Those were times where we studied the Bible rigourously in the raw and we knew each other's discipline - Wing Yut excelled and was an example and encouragement to us in the pursuit of God's word. His faithfulness, discipline & humility in serving in church is a testament to his being called to pastor in 2 other churches with TPBC blessings.

His leaving may be sudden but not beyond God's design. God is sovereign.

We sadly miss you ...till we reunite again in the presence of our God.

" ..the Lord gave and the Lord has taken away, blessed be the name of the Lord" Job 1:21

Dear Godpa,

Thank you for the life you led. Although we never had many conversations together but I still remember vividly the one occasion we met up at Swensens for a heart-to-heart. You were a man truly after God’s heart and it wasn’t because you were a pastor but because you lived a life that exuded God’s grace through you. I remember fondly your hearty laughter and the way you dispensed words of wisdom. Your presence was always a comforting and uplifting one. Thank you for being you, and for being my Godpa. Till we meet again in the presence of our Father.

Pastor Choy: I will always remember your earnest service to our Lord, your genuine concern for the flock He entrusted to you, and your diligent spirit in all that you did. One example you cited still motivates me today - about not finding excuses not to exercise or pray, because you can do both at the same time :). You will be missed here but we know the Lord has considered your earthly mission accomplished and called you to glory; we look forward to that future and glorious reunion before our Lord Jesus. Until then may we also be found faithful like you.

Pst Wing Yut, I will miss your sermons, which were so invigorating and insightful, passionate and purposeful. I will miss having you in our CG Bible Studies, where you had so much knowledge to share, but also so much sensitivity to hold back and allow the leader to deliver. But most of all, I will miss you as a friend, because even when you had so many responsibilities and agenda on your shoulders, that's how you chose to reach out to me when we met up for lunch. God bless your dear soul, as you sit with the Lord Jesus, whom you love greatly and loves you even more. As you watch us who remain in this world, may we be living out the lessons that you have taught and inspired us with, as a testament of the legacy you have left this world with.

Pastor Wing Yut has been a great blessing to us at TPBC, both in an earlier period when he served as Youth Pastor and more recently when he re-joined us after many years away in Baptist Church ministry. His friendly and cheerful disposition, hearty laugh and readiness to engage in deep conversation will be greatly missed. His sermons were clear and inspiring! We were all so much looking forward to his leading us in the next period of ministry at TPBC but the Lord has called Him home to an even better place! We look forward to re-uniting with Him in Christ in time to come! With prayer and deepest condolences to all His loved ones, Chris & family.

Thank you for being there for me when I needed it most.

I will remember and be ever grateful for Pastor Choy as someone who loved and lay down his life for the Lord, his family and the church. His life was lived for them. Let us remember the family he leaves behind in prayer and render every support we can, and reflect deeply on his example.

I have known Wing Yut for many years. The Lord first connected us when he was a lay leader of the youth ministry in People's Bible Church and I was worshipping there for about two years with my family. Later, when he went for training to prepare for full-time ministry at SBC, I had the joy of having him as a student in some of my classes. When he came to Evangel Baptist Church (EBC) as pastor, I became one of his "sheep". He was the pastor of EBC for 5 years and during this time, the Lord had used him to touch the lives of some people very dearly. Most of all, he will be fondly remembered by me and my wife as a dear friend and faithful co-worker in the Lord.

May the knowledge that he has indeed fought the good fight and run the good race bring much strength, peace, and comfort to all who know him, especially his beloved wife Yvonne and daughter.

So dear Bro Wing Yut, rest well in the Lord's loving presence till we meet again.

8 months ago my wife and I stepped into TPBC, and we met at the newcomers table. Your warmth and jovial nature left an impression on me and my wife. Thanks for always trying to make sure that someone is following up on us, or that we are not left alone. Thanks for the messages and sermons that you have delivered. Thanks for the short walk during the family day, where we get to know more about each other. Thanks for the prayers and the visit when my wife was hospitalised. I'll always remember you dearly as the pastor who never judges and welcomes me with your warm smiles since I became a Christian 20 years ago. You were generous with your encouragement & affirmations, which meant so much to me as a young Christian. You were one of the people I look forward to seeing whenever I came for church service! I'm blessed to have you as my youth pastor. Missing you dearly, but comforted you're now enjoying the full presence of our Lord Jesus. Looking forward to worshipping our Lord together with you!
